The lecture gives a comprehensive insight into all aspects concerning the management of a cargo airline and its role in the global supply chain. Essential learning content relates to products, services, customer relations, network planning and capacity management, technology and innovations in air freight as well as the political and regulatory environment. The content is enriched and explained using practical examples from the perspective of one of the leading global air freight companies.

Students should gain a comprehensive understanding of the importance of air freight, the role of (cargo) airlines in the global supply chain, and the specific tasks involved in the operational and strategic management of an airline. One focus of the lecture will be to illustrate what has been learned and to discuss it on the basis of concrete practical examples.

The course is supported by the e-learning platform moodle. Registration for the moodle course takes place automatically after successful registration in TUCaN.

The course is to be participated in combination with a lecture of the modules Logistics Management and Transport Management and will only be successfully completed if the modules have been completed in total.
