Common Seawater Supply Pipeline

The Marlog LBG Logistics GmbH as part of Martrade Group is a logistics service provider offering for instance multimodal door-to-door route planning and shipping services, operating its own terminals as well as conducting various logistics projects around the oil and gas industry. In the study “Common Seawater Supply Pipeline” the construction of a seawater pipeline is considered, which is needed for the exploitation of oil fields located in Iraq. For the construction of the pipelines the required pipeline segments and project equipment have to be transported to the installation sites under consideration of in- and outbound of ports as well as possible temporary storage facilities.

The aim of the study is the identification and assessment of suitable infrastructures and the associated transport and logistics concept. Therefore, the primary and secondary data are analyzed together with Marlog LBG Logistics and then implemented into a multi-method simulation. Different scenarios with various environmental conditions and uncertainties are modeled to analyze the effects on the transport concept.
