Can rail freight also do 'fast and small'? – Market requirements and opportunities in combined transport (CT)

2024/09/17

On 12 September 2024, the House of Logistics and Mobility (HOLM) in Frankfurt hosted an event that brought together numerous industry experts and specialists from the field of combined transport. The focus was on presentations and discussions on key challenges and common goals: CO2 reduction, solutions to the shortage of skilled workers and greater efficiency and reliability on the first and last mile of freight transport.

We are delighted that our research associate Ren Kajiyama moderated the lively panel discussion, which addressed topics such as subsidies for rail expansion, affordable track prices and sensible cooperation to conserve resources. Afterwards, interested participants explored the Combined Transport Innovation Lab , which is operated by our department at HOLM.
