On October 16, 2023, Jan Tränkner successfully defended his doctoral thesis on the topic of “Horizontal Business Cooperation under Uncertainty” – a big thumbs up and “hats off” from the whole team!

During his time as an external doctoral student at our department, Jan Tränkner has successfully dealt with a lot of topics related to storage solutions in logistics – which can also be seen in detail on the doctoral hat lovingly designed by his colleagues. In his dissertation, he investigated the possibilities for horizontal corporate cooperation to reduce uncertainty-related consequences – for example, by using both rival and non-rival goods. Particular attention was also paid to the influence that the actors' willingness to cooperate can have on the success of the cooperation. This was implemented with the help of an economic laboratory experiment and various simulations.
