The students should get an overview of the management of value networks. They will learn the basics and theories of international management as well as strategy and strategy design (strategy design at the corporate and business level, strategic analysis, strategic management in multinational companies). Furthermore, the organization and organizational design (structural and operational organization, organization of international networks) is addressed. In addition, the field of planning and decision making (decision making theories and decision making techniques) as well as the introduction to simulation will provide students with methodological knowledge for the decision making process for the management of value networks.

After the course the students are able to:

  • reproduce basic knowledge about the management of value networks
  • apply basic knowledge of value network management in practical situations
  • apply different decision making techniques on practical examples
  • establish links between basic knowledge on the management of value networks and advanced courses in business administration
  • reproduce the conveyed concepts of strategy design on different levels and apply them in a practical context
  • understand and reproduce different models for structural and operational organization
