Simulation is a suitable method for solving complex planning problems in all areas of logistics (from planning the warehouse layout to the comprehensive analysis of entire supply chains). The module conveys the basics of event-discrete and agent-based simulation and applies them by using a case study of a logistics service provider on a specific example. The basics include among other things the general procedure for simulation studies as well as methods for evaluating simulation results. In the case study, the processes of a logistics service provider are modeled using the AnyLogic simulation software and different transport concepts are analyzed by means of simulation experiments.

How to register

Please conduct the following steps for both courses („Simulation in Production and Logistics“ and „Simulation in Logistics and Traffic (SimuLoVe)“):

  1. Registration period: Make sure that the registration period has opened (you can retrieve this from the course pages (here and here ) or TUCaN)
  2. TUCaN registration: Once the registration period has opened, register for one of the small groups in TUCaN.
  3. Kick-Off meeting: Participate in the Kick-Off-Meeting. Time and place of the meeting can be retrieved from the course pages (here and here ) or from TUCaN. In TUCaN, the first appointment reflects the Kick-Off meeting.
  4. Both courses: Make sure that you have conducted above steps for both courses.
  5. Final confirmation: After the Kick-Off-Meeting, you will be informed if you have received a place.

The module grade is not based on the CP number, but on the scheduled semester hours of the individual courses. Please refer to the module handbook of your study program.
