The lecture “International Logistics Systems” will be read as a bachelor course starting in winter semester 2020/21. It is also possible to take an exam for the lecture “International Logistics Systems” to conclude the module “Fundamentals in Transport and Logistics”.

Within the course International Logistics Systems the basics of intraorganizational logistics systems in industrial, trade and logistics companies and interorganizational logistics systems in international sales and procurement channels are taught. Based on the characteristic features of logistics services, the following courses teach the basics of performance-specific (order processing, warehousing, packaging, transport) and phase-specific (procurement logistics, production logistics, distribution logistics, spare parts logistics, waste disposal logistics) subsystems of logistics.

Furthermore, the students learn how to apply the acquired theoretical contents skilfully in the offered exercises.

Students should learn the basics of logistics conception – a holistic view of the flow of materials and goods caused by storage, handling, transporting, packaging, signing and the processing of orders. Moreover, they should learn about the possibilities of cooperation and work distribution between suppliers, customers and logistic service providers based on an intra- and interorganizational approach.
