In the logistics sector, the growing market of China still lacks a sufficiently qualified workforce. At the same time, employee fluctuation in companies is high as fluctuation rates of 20 percent are not uncommon. In order to cope with the challenge of gaining and retaining employees, a logistics academy in China will be created in cooperation with the Schenker AG, the department of Management and Logistics at the TU Darmstadt and local institutions.
The target is to create a broad training concept for employees in the logistics sector, which enables them to be qualified at the best and thus offers career opportunities for them in the companies.
The chair of Management and Logistics of TU Darmstadt is in charge of designing the overall concept. During the ongoing operation, which will start after the Chinese New Year 2012, the chair of Management and Logistics will still have the academic responsibility.
