Increasingly complex sourcing parts, rising procurement volumes and increasing quality requirements cause a rising importance of procurement and purchasing functions of industrial companies. Through a global competition and thus increasing cost pressures, however, it is necessary to meet the requirements in an effective and efficient way. For these reasons, the check and adjustment of all purchasing processes, as well as of the organization itself, is crucial for a continuous success.
With the help of an accurate quantitative description of the purchasing performance, in terms of effectiveness and efficiency evaluation, the purchasing processes of different industrial company are analyzed and benchmarked. With this approach, precise conclusions concerning the improvement potentials of the purchasing performance can be derived.
